The African Democratic Congress ADC has again reaffirmed the candidacy of Olooye ADEGBOYEGA ADEGOKE FCA as the Governorship flag bearer of the party in the forthcoming 2027 elections in the Oyo state.
The Deputy National Financial Secretary of the ADC OLADIMEJI FADEYI in a special interview on Solutions 93fm`s AM UPDATE this morning while clarifying the internal party issues in the state and at the national level said Olooye ADEGOKE is the recognized and Bonafide Governorship candidate of ADC in the state who went through a recognized primary organized by the party and confirmed by the Independent national electoral commission INEC.
“So, in the case of ADC, the party has succeeded in presenting credible people to represent the party in the coming elections, and Oyo State inclusive. We had a primary that produced who to represent the parties. For instance, in Oyo State, we had a primaries that produced Oloye Adegboyega Taofeek as the candidate of the governorship candidate of the party. So, the members chose—we went through direct primaries and members of the party chose him to represent them in the next election.”
Mr. FADEYI called on ALAGBE GBEMILEKE and other aggrieved members of the party in the state to sheath their swords and join hands with Oloyee ADEGBOYEGA ADEGOKE FCA in winning the state Governorship polls in 2027 and take the pacesetter to the next level of development.
“What I don’t want is for them to use this to discourage our members, members that want to come in. And that’s why I said initially that if you are truly for the party, you will not do this. If you have gone to court, let the court decide and stop creating confusion. We don’t need this confusion in the party. We don’t need it. We need more people. We want people to see us as the best alternative. But when you begin to do this, it doesn’t— it doesn’t augur well for the party.”
Speaking on the chances of ATIKU ABUBAKAR in the 2027 Presidential election, the Deputy National Financial Secretary of the party said the former Vice President has the experience and solutions to challenges battling the country, as he also debunked series of rumors surrounding the image of the Adamawa state born politician.
“This man, at some point, even when he was in government, go and check his track record as someone who managed our economy, as somebody who discovered the talents that made their government thick, as somebody who stood firm on the side of rule of law. And that is what he’s still fighting into today, because he stood against the third term. This man went to court 21 times and won against his boss without bribing a judge, without seeing any registrar.”
The General elections according to INEC will be held on 16 January 2027 to elect the President and Vice President, members of the Senate and House of Representatives, while the Governorship and house of assembly polls will be held on February 6, 2027.
“When he was Chairman of Economic Council— that was when our GDP in record time, no government has been able to meet the growth of Nigeria that Atiku supervised. Today the GSM that people are using to abuse this same ATIKU, he revolutionized it. And every time ATIKU is running for presidency, he will tell you what he wants to do and how he’s going to do it. He has started again. In 2023, President BOLA AHMED TINUBU ran away from presidential debate. He couldn’t tell us. That was why you could see this lot of policy somersaults, including the subsidy that they’re talking about now.”
