Governor SEYI MAKINDE has maintained that choosing his successor ahead of 2027 polls is not based on party coloration, but loyalty to the state`s development and progress.
Governor MAKINDE who made this known today during the day -2 of the 2026 international summit held at the conference center, University of Ibadan explained that his administration is focusing on building an institution that will continue and last the test of time even after he leaves office next year.
The Governor who had been rumored to have anointed Honorable ABIMBOLA ADEKANBI a former APC member as his candidate for the forthcoming polls, but the state`s number citizen in his speech today explained that any candidate his team select would be a qualified leader who can continue the developmental projects and plans his administration embarked on for the benefit of the people of the state.



Governor MAKINDE called on investors not to panic on investing in the state`s tourism sector as his administration is creating and running a coordinating system that will run for many years.
Also speaking at the summit former Ekiti state governor Dr KAYODE FAYEMI who praised the MAKINDE led administration said for the Tourism sector to generate revenue for the state, it must be institutionalized.

The tourism summit ends tomorrow Thursday.
