Oyo State Governor, Engineer SEYI MAKINDE has announced a temporary financial relief package aimed at easing the burden of rising living costs on public workers in the state .
Governor Makinde who announced the approval of a flat-rate palliative of ₦10,000 for all state workers, including local government employees
today during a Youth Empowerment Agribusiness Programme (YEAP) Safer Disbursement Ceremony and Stakeholders’ Engagement held at the Fasola Agribusiness Industrial Hub in Oyo said the measure is set to run for an initial period of three months, beginning in April 2026.
According to Makinde, the intervention is part of efforts by the state government to cushion the effects of economic hardship triggered by the recent increase in petroleum product prices.
He further noted that the palliative could be extended beyond the initial three-month period, depending on the prevailing economic situation.
