Management of the Cocoa Research Institute of Nigeria (CRIN) Ibadan, has confirmed that it has embarked on a rescue mission for two of its staff members who were kidnapped at the institute`s guest house on Tuesday evening.
The staff; a male and female who were preparing for a welfare package ahead of an administrative event scheduled for Wednesday were said to have been abducted when kidnappers attacked them from a nearby bush at the staff quarters. Speaking to DOKMEDIA Correspondent on Wednesday, acting Executive Director, CRIN Ibadan, DR ABIODUN ADEDEJI said the institute has been working with security agents to track down the abductors and see to the safe return of the victims.


Recall some visiting Cocoa farmers were abducted on the premises of the institute two months ago, who were later rescued by a joint security effort on the outskirts of the city.
